Four Seasons Resorts, Mauritius
IOTA’s planters were specified
by leading international design firm Richmond International for the new Four Seasons Resort, Mauritius at Anahita. Opened in October 2008, the luxury resort offers 123 spacious villas and residences, divided between the mainland and a private 11 acre island.
A selection of bespoke and stock planters
were specified, in a range of materials. Ceramic Calisto planters were used in the entrance halls to the premium Garden Villas, and marble planters from IOTA’s Marmoris range were used at the poolside O-Bar bar and grill. However the largest part of the brief comprised bespoke planters in a mirror-polished, jet black granite stone. A total of 47 extra-large bespoke planters were commissioned in four designs, and used at key signpost locations within restaurants, bars and public circulation areas. The custom stone and mirror finish was originated by IOTA to meet Richmond International’s design specification on this project, and was subsequently also used in the Bahrain City Centre Mall development.
The clean and simple styling of IOTA’s planters
and their high standard of finish allows for a natural transition from exterior to interior spaces. All planters on the Four Seasons project were sealed watertight for interior use, and this can be retrofitted on stock planters as well as on custom planters. Suited equally to residential interiors, commercial interiors and public spaces, IOTA’s planters are commonly specified where smart ‘statement’ planting is required; and the weight of IOTA’s natural stone planters gives them an extra stability, which is a distinct advantage in high traffic areas and public spaces.
