Special Commission Acrylic Sculpture
This captivating one-off art piece from IOTA
is made from disks of fluorescent orange acrylic with a stainless steel support. When lit at night, the sculpture becomes a flaming orb, with the light travelling to the edges of the acrylic. By day, fluid effects are created as the background light changes, and as direct sunlight catches the sculpture.The sculpture forms a dramatic room centrepiece
in keeping with the ‘contemporary meets traditional’ tone of the interior scheme. Said the client:"My house is a 100 year old barn which I completely renovated to create a modern interior whilst maintaining key original features such as the solid stone walls. The key themes to the design are stainless steel, glass, solid walnut wood, soft (round) edges and cream with orange as the accent colour.
I spoke to IOTA when I discovered the fantastic sculptures they had produced for gardens. I asked them if they could create something unique for my house as a show piece in the main living space - they produced the orange globe which is eye catching, elegant and ever changing.
The globe is made of acrylic circles mounted on a central stainless steel pillar. The object is fantastic as it catches the daylight and interior lighting and looks different throughout the day.
