Coloured Granite Planters
IOTA supplied a number of large, bespoke planters in natural stone
commissioned for a private client by leading designer Patrick McCulloch of Miles and McCulloch >> . In addition to being of the highest quality, the planters needed to conform to a precise colour palette, to match an extensive hard landscaped scheme. IOTA sourced an appropriate granite stone for the planters,
resolved certain technical issues in working with the new material, and delivered on the order well within time and budget. The commissioning designer, who had worked with the company on several previous projects, was very satisfied with the bespoke pots, and considered that the price in particular was “extraordinarily reasonable”. Said IOTA’s Chief Executive, Mark Chessell:
“To be perfectly honest, ‘specials’ can be extremely time consuming, and this project was no exception – yet we love doing them! The reason why is simple. Working with leading-edge designers keeps us abreast of design trends, and it challenges us to work with new materials, and to look at new ways to develop our business in future. Many of the new ranges we launch each year originated as a germ of an idea which we learned from doing a ‘special’. So I am very keen to take on bespoke work, as part of our commitment to maintaining IOTA’s position within the industry.”
